About the vacancy
SB Culinary Center invites students of foreign languages, hospitality, and restaurant management to a front-of-house internship at Restaurant Refectorio, a 1-Michelin-star restaurant in Sardón de Duero, Spain. The internship begins in April 2026 and runs until November 2026.
The restaurant is located in the historic refectory of a 12th-century abbey, now part of a modern hotel and restaurant complex surrounded by century-old vineyards. It has kept its standards since 2014, when the Michelin Guide awarded its first star. Marc Segarra took over the kitchen in 2016 and has retained the star every year since. Segarra is a student, admirer, and devoted follower of Rodrigo de la Calle, the founder of the gastrobotany movement in haute cuisine.
Duration: 6-8 months
Requirements:
• Spanish B2–C2 | English C1–C2
• Experience in customer service, professional appearance, and a strong motivation for professional development in a luxury hospitality environment following the Abadía Retuerta model.
• Applicants should also be willing to actively participate in team and community activities and be able to manage a high workload effectively.
Internships conditions (front of house):
• Shared cottage for 3–4 people, 3 km from the complex, provided by the host organization
• Monthly stipend €587
• Uniform provided
• Meals on working days
• Transfer on arrival and departure days
Program cost for a stay of 6 months: 3090€, plus €350 for official document translation
Program cost for a stay of more than 6 months : 3290€, plus €350 for official document translation
Additional costs:
• Insurance
• Visa fee
• Flight ticket
