The Pastry Assistant supports our pastry team in preparing a variety of desserts, baked goods, and confections. The ideal candidate is passionate about baking, has a good understanding of pastry techniques, and is eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures that there are always enough products available;
• Preparation and baking of pastries;
• Prepare and make all pastry products according to the set bakery schedule;
• Supporting the bakery team to prepare pastries or events on a daily basis;
• Always inspects and ensures the correct dimensions for all baked items;
• Ensure proper storage of all items in the refrigerators and freezers;
• Ensures product freshness and food safety by consistently inspecting frontline items;
• Assisting the other bakers.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, or culinary environment (preferred but not required)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately;
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team and take direction well;
• Good command of Dutch, English, Spanish and Papiamento;
• Flexible availability, including weekdays, weekends and holidays, as required.
